FAQs
Why has it taken so long to build a church at NCU?
1
Building a church on a university campus typically takes a long time because the primary congregation—students—generally have limited financial resources and many competing priorities. Alumni support for campus projects is often a small percentage of the total donor base, slowing capital campaigns.
Who is in charge of the building project?
2
The NCU Church leadership has been collaborating with the Northern Caribbean University administration, Jamaican Union as well as the Atlantic Caribbean Union conferences to develop and build - with the support of alumni and friends, the joint church and School of Religion complex.
How much has been accomplished on this project?
3
There are six phases to this project. Currently, we are working on phase three. Based on the last assessment, we are almost at the 50% mark to complete the University Church/School of Religion Complex Chapel. The chapel will be used for weekly worship services and serve as a laboratory for the Religion and Theology students of the University.
